I had been in pain with abdominal cramping for a few days that radiated to my back and the middle of my stomach, and it was getting progressively worse by the day. I'd be okay during the day but then at night I'd be in a lot of pain to the point it kept me up for at least two days straight.

I finally gave in and asked my dad to take me to the ER at about 10:30 on Thursday night. I waited in the lobby for a few hours but it wasn't horrible minus the fact I was in so much pain I couldn't sit back in the chair.

Then they took me back and did the usual urine sample and bloodwork, except they had a hard time getting my blood because I guess I was dehydrated and also my veins were at an angle? Or they were too deep? It depends what provider you ask, haha. The physician assistant that saw me noted that my eyes were yellow (jaundice) and that my bloodwork showed that I had elevated bilirubin (a liver enzyme) and other abnormal results.

The other doctor that saw me remembered me from my suicide attempt back in April. I remembered her name from the medical records online but didn't remember her face because I was blacked out a lot of the time I was there for my attempt.

Eventually I was admitted. During my time there I had bloodwork, a CT scan, an ultrasound, a HIDA test (An hour long scan), and an MRI.

They found gallstones but said that those likely weren't causing my pain and weren't an immediate surgical issue. They noticed that my liver was inflamed a little and also had a lesion on it. It was more likely that the liver is causing my pain.

Besides that my hospital stay was okay. I had problems with ordering food because sometimes I wasn't asked what I wanted so I'd get something I wouldn't eat. The pain also would sometimes come back after I ate, but it's gone now for now, knock on wood! Everyone was very nice to me there, from the nurses to the housekeeping staff who helped me with silly questions and even closed the blinds for me so I could take a nap.

I was released Saturday with orders to follow up with a GI doctor about my liver and gallbladder, and a surgeon about my gallbladder They gave me a referral for both, so I hoe they take my insurance or I'll have to go through the process of finding a new one and requesting my medical records so I can give them to the new doctor.

After I was released I just slept for the rest of the day from 2 or 3 PM Saturday up until about 12:#0 PM Sunday. I have to go to work tomorrow and really don't want to, but I will do it.

I'm a bit nervous about what the liver results mean, and also worried about the gallbladder getting worse. My sister had hers out a few months back and it caused tons of issues for her after. I'm scared that the pain will come back as well, because all they said was I caid was I could take Ibuprofen for it.

I don't know if it is my fault that my liver has a lesion and inflammation. The suicide attempt in April could have caused it, but it also may not have. It is a little weird to them that it cased issues in a delayed fashion, but they said it was possible. The GI doctor will know more. Maybe it's just a coincidence and it's not my fault that there's damage? :/

We'll have to see what the future holds.
