Hi there

I think everyone goes through phahes of feeling depressed but this normally lasts no more than a few days. If you feel depressed or 'low' for weeks or months, this could be a sign that you are struggling with depression. You may feel empty or hopeless, maybe you're losing interest in things. Perhaps you feel anxious or on edge a lot of the time. You might feel emotional and find yourself crying a lot or being very tearful. You might start to have thoughts of harming yourself or thoughts of killing yourself. Then there are phsyicaly feelings as well such as not being able to sleep or sleeping too much. Loss of appetite. Sometimes people can ache in their body too.

We can't tell you whether you or anyone else is struggling with depression because we're not medically trained. If you or someone else you know, have been feeling low and depressed and so on, for weeks or months, it might be worth seeing a doctor who if they feel is needed, can refer you into a mental health team and can look into medication.

If you ever need to talk to us, know that we're always here. You're not on your own.

Take good care
