I'm tired of living like this - October 17th 2012, 08:24 PM

I'm extremely suicidal. My plan is to wait until my 504 plan meeting, which is next Thursday. I want to just hang in there until that's over. My friends are suppossed to come by for Halloween, so after that is the latest. Then I want to somehow tell my mom that I don't think I can keep myself safe, and I'd like to be in a hospital. How do I tell her that? I don't want her to be angry, but I do want her to take me seriously. I want to scream and tell her how much it hurts. I'm actually afraid of myself.

Cassie, I'm glad that you realize what you need to keep yourself safe. I know it's scary to tell parents about this stuff, but telling her is the only way to get what you need. I don't think she'll be angry (although I obviously don't know her); she will probably be scared, which may come across as anger. I suggest sitting down with her when there's nothing else going on and calmly explain that your symptoms are getting worse, you're afraid that you might hurt yourself, and would like to go to the hospital. I know it's easier said than done, but you can do it.

Thanks. I'll tell her after my meeting. I just have to keep myself a alive a little while longer. I can do this. Breathe, in and out.
