Told My Parents Everything.. - November 6th 2012, 09:27 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of self harm, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

If you saw my other post on the Mental Health Forum I didn't mention that I've also been feeling a lot depressed and have been Self Harming since September.

At the end of last week my parents kept asking me what was wrong, and I kept insisting I was fine- very unconvicingly apparently. They went out Saturday night to dinner leaving me alone with a crate of Cider (I know that getting drunk wont solve anything but what happened, happened) by the time they came back I'd had 7 cans and it was obvious that I was drunk and they said "maybe now you can tell us what's wrong?" I went into complete meltdown. I told them everything, the self harm, my violent thoughts, that a while back I was questioning my gender, I even gave them the stanley knife and told them to take it.

I cant remember much of what happened after that but the next morning my mum held my hands and told me that I'd never feel alone again.

My mum sent an email to my personal tutor as well and she's going to sort out some counselling for me.

So that's what's been happening in my life at the moment. I know that admitting I need help has already started making me feel better.

I am glad that you have gotten help, albeit, you were intoxicated at the time, but I am so proud of you! I'm glad you are agreeing to do the couselling as well, at least this time you can make the decision sober

Stay strong,

Jay.

My blog is open to all, those whom are easily triggered avoid, it's a story about a girl and her life and how far she has come over the years. If you read it, I hope it inspires you to keep fighting and to NEVER give up!

When you can no longer think of a reason to continue, you must think of a reason to start over.
