Why does no one care - January 4th 2013, 11:54 AM

Lately i been feel down a lot and i started self harming a year ago. I started think suicide and writing letters and planning how to kill myself and no one cares about me anymore.

Who said no one loves you.. Ask your mom nd dad how much they love you care you.. You are evrything for them .. Nd no need to harmyourself .. .. Go outside nd see the sky how beautiful is it .. play with frnds... see the birds , trees , flowers .... Evrything cares about you nd love ...

What do you mean by no one cares? All of us here on Teen Help care!

Have you tried to tell someone about your self harm? I know it's hard to talk to your parents about this type of thing, maybe you could try to speak to a school counselor or trusted adult? Please, don't try to end your life. Take it from me. I'm 14 and I tried to kill myself seven times. You're worth it. There's a place in this world for you, all you have to do is find it. Message me if you need to talk.

Hey there,

I'm sorry you've been feeling so down and have turned to things such as SH and planning as a result of this. Have you spoken to someone about this yet? It might be worth thinking about that since this has been going on for a year or more now since talking is a good way to get things out in the open and take a load off. Not having to bottle it all up can be quite relaxing and may make you feel a bit better. Also, it'll give you the chance to ask for help. Starting here is a wonderful thing and you should be proud, but there is more out there and it's something you might want to consider, perhaps talking to a doctor or even just a family member or friend.

I want you to know, also, that people do care about you. If I didn't care, I wouldn't spend my time typing out a decent response. The other people who have replied wouldn't have spent their time offering you their help. Your family will care, your friends will care. It may seem like they don't, but do they know that you're struggling? Do they know that you feel this way? If not, tell them. They need to know in order for them to help you out, understand?

The SH is not a good thing to use to help you get through this. Since it's been going on for such a long time now, it's definitely worth looking toward alternative coping methods so that you're not putting yourself in danger. The longer you stick to this one, the more likely it is that it will become even more dangerous and, in some cases, life threatening. It's an addiction, and so it will be hard to find things that work for you when it comes to finding something else to help you cope, but if you take a look here you might be able to find somewhere to start. Not all will work, but keep at it. You can do this.

I realize things must be tough. But hey, when things go bad, you can't give up. Keep fighting and never surrender. You're strong, okay, hun? I care about you and I can't stand to see a young girl hurting this bad and feeling so bad about herself. I wanna help you and I want you to be happy. I was also hoping we could become friends. That okay?

Suicide is not worth it. Of course I'm not there with you in real life or around people you know, but I'd place a high bet on the fact that your family and friends DO care about you. Sadness makes us think otherwise. They'd all be distraught if you decided to commit suicide. How about talking to your parents/friends/siblings or school counselor, maybe a therapist or your teachers about this? It's important for someone in real life to know so they can help you. A support system is extremely important and of course, you have all of us at TeenHelp that'd love to help you out.

Instead of writing the letters. How about writing poems or stories or just expressing your feelings in a journal? In everyday, write down a list of all the negatives at the top and the positives of the day at the bottom of the paper. Then rip it in half and tear the negatives apart, throw it in the garbage and just read over everything good and what make you feel happy, fold it up and keep it somewhere secret. Do that everyday and then when you feel depressed, go look at all the good things and great feelings in the past and realize there is good in life. You just gotta look at the positives and focus on them the most. Keep that idea in mind, please.

Another thing that helps me, are hobbies, media and other interests. Like...

- Games
- Going for a walk
- Cuddling my kitten
- Movies
- TV
- Music
- Drawing
- Painting
- Going Biking
- Taking a warm bubble bath

Whatever makes you happy, do it instead of tending to sad thoughts. Like writing letters and responding in ways like that. Show the negative emotion you got nothing on it and you're gonna do something positive. As for the self-harm, you don't deserve to hurt yourself to feel happy. It can become addictive and more negative emotions can come into the picture. Check out the Alternatives and try some out if you want. You have to want to recover to stop though. Keep that in mind and motivate yourself with goals of how long you go without self-harming and set the goals longer than your last record.

Remember, you can do this, sweetie. Recovery is possible. Believe in yourself and see the bright side of every rainfall. I'm always here for you. Hope I helped. :3 You are special... A really special and beautiful person.
