Birthdays! Use this forum to talk about yours or your friends' birthdays, or to wish other TeenHelp users a happy birthday.
These two weeks are like the worse weeks of my life every year. I love my life I do but for some reason I get suicidal around my birthday and end up going to the hospital. I'm trying not to relapse but it's so hard. I just don't know what to do. I don't even know why I'm writing this.
Is there anything that has ever happened specifically around a past birthday that may unconsciously trigger you? Or is there a certain feeling around the idea of your birthday what could be the issue? For some people the idea of getting older is what bothers then, knowing that their 'number' is going to increase once again can be the issue. Have a think about events or situations that may have happened in the past, and think about how you feel about birthdays and growing up in general and from there you may find the answer as to why you start feeling the way you do, then you can take steps to helping yourself get out of these feelings that emerge around your birthday.
