Coming To Terms With My Attempt - November 4th 2016, 11:00 PM

In June, I made a suicide attempt.

Today, I wanted to make amends and move forward in a positive way.

I got a card and small arrangement of flowers, then went over to the police station.

I went in and explained the situation, about my suicide attempt, and how I wanted to thank the officers who saved me. They allowed me to go back and a lady pulled up the police report. She said she still remembers that day, and how hard it was. She then pulled up the officers who responded. One of them was there.

Nervous feelings! He came up and first of all--he's VERY good looking. 😂 I told him I was the one that drove into the lake and that I was so thankful he was able to save me. I told him how much better I'm doing.

We talked for a few minutes, and then he told me to give him a hug. I hugged him, and said "thank you" again, with tears in my eyes. He said he will let the team of people who saved me know that I stopped by, and share the card and flowers with them. It was wonderful to make contact with one of the people that saved me. Our police do not get thanked enough. There are some amazing people out there.

I think it's good you have done this because of how its your coming to terms with your attempt and lets face it, it is always nice for those who helped us to be thanked. Always. I just want to remind you that you never have to apologise for what happened to people. You didn't do it to cause harm to others. But I am glad this has seemed to have helped which is really positive. I am happy for you

Also, if you ever are struggling, please know we're always here for you okay? You never have to go through that alone ever again.

Hope and wishes,

"Only in the dark, can you see the stars..."

This is really sweet and I am glad you are coming to terms with your attempt. I also think it is cool that you met the people who've helped you months later and updated them. They sound happy to hear you're doing better. I'm also happy to hear you're doing better now. But like Jessie said, you're welcome to use the support of this site if you find yourself struggling again.

That's so sweet of you Police officers probably don't have people reach out to them like that very often, I bet it meant so much to him that you are doing better and came to see him. I bet that'll really remind him why he does what he does and it'll probably be a really special memory for him.

I am also glad to hear that you're doing a lot better now. That's amazing. I hope you'll continue to feel better.

Feel free to PM me if you ever need to chat or have questions

What a lovely idea! I'm so glad you got the chance to thank the people who helped you, and I'm sure it makes their job so worth it to see someone make a positive change in their life.
Keep up the good work. You can beat this.
