I'm trying. - October 20th 2019, 10:53 AM

So my dad has never really understood my mental health issues but it's getting so much worse lately, he genuinely seems annoyed with what's wrong with me, I've spoken to him about my problems till I was blue in the face but he doesn't listen, he said that I'm just lazy and that I need to go out and just say hi to people, and that if I can get up and watch tv and play on my phone that I can do other things, he got annoyed when I said that me having medication could takes months or years to work and find the right ones, he said that my anxiety was rubbing off on my little brother and that I 'shouldnt do it around him' I've been having thoughts of killing myself alot recently and everytime he calls me lazy or tells me to just do things I want to do it more I seriously dont know what to do anymore I'm trying my hardest.

Being dosed on medication ain't the solution to your mental health issues.

You need to take an honest look at yourself and ask yourself the questions that make you uncomfortable.

"What's causing me to feel the way I am right now?"

"What can I do right now to change the way I am currently feeling?"

It sounds to me your dad may be causing you all the tension and mental health issues you're experiencing because it sounds like you don't have that great of a relationship with your dad from what you're saying, but I don't know for certain because I'm not you.

That's something you need to figure out for yourself.

Don't feel like you need to suppress your negative emotions. Letting them out can be the healthiest thing you can do (while not hurting yourself intentionally).
