mental health activism? - June 6th 2009, 09:01 AM

so i want to get involved
in trying to find a cure for depression, IRL
because it looks more legitimate than hanging around here
and i think it'll help more people

do you know who i should throw my time/money at

(i've already looked into volunteering at a suicide hotline, but they said you have to be at least 21)

thanks

There is no magic cure. But if you would like to get involved in IRL support, then yes I recommend a support hotline of some kind, maybe working in a therapy centre? ( you might need a medical or psychology qualification for this. Do your research). But for either, mentioning you helped at A support website might be very advantageous.

There are so many causes of depression. You'll have to choose your battles. There are psychological causes, sociological, biological, religious, etc... and within each of those is a list of causes.
