Unhappy confused - September 27th 2009, 02:18 PM

ok, well im not sure where to start really, so i'll put it briefly:

for a long time i feel i have had depression, i have been feeling extremely low and negative about my future. i have been a real bitch to all my friends.

my parents dont believe me and say all the stuff i am feeling is deliberate and the self harmin was attention seeking and i need to pull myself together and be grateful for what i have kinda thing.

and now i think i am happy, i feel better, but sometimes, i can still feel the sadness inside me, all the bad thoughts come back. i dunno wht to do.

do u think i am just experiencing "normal sadness"- coz it doesnt feel like it

I think it's impossible to know based on that information whether it's normal sadness or clinical depression, but it sounds to me like it's possible you have depression.

But, if your parents can't help you get treatment, all you can do for now is try not to let it get you down. That's quite a lot easier said than done, but almost everyone feels sad and negative and even bitchy sometimes. You just have to find things that make you happy(er) and friends who understand, you know? Best of luck, and remember that lots of peeps at TeenHelp are here for you
