I need to make some friends -
October 11th 2009, 04:33 AM
I have always had troubles making friends ive always said well when this happens people will like me and ohhhh when i get into HS everything will be fine and ill just make friends. Well im in the 10th grade now and im tired of really only having one friend. i get depressed every weekend when i know everyone else is doing stuff and im not. What advice can you give me for making some friends? When i try to talk to people i run out of things to talk about really fast and i have a hard time starting a conversation. I also have never really felt confident about my self. thanks!

Be confident even if you have to fake it at the start, smile be yourself. if you see a group of people go up and say hi how are you my name is..... can i sit with you? and see what they say. If you find you can go up to a group try apporaching someone one on one and see if that is easier for you.

I used to feel the same way.
I used to hear about parties and not be invited and not have that many friends.
But what I decided was that I am a damn good person and I dont deserve to be treated like I dont exist.
I went to school worked hard learning and went home after not that long people started to talk to me and become comfortable with me.
When I left public school freshman year I was one of the most popular people.
I am not saying it will be with this easy for you.
You may have to just open up and smile at people and say hi.
It really matters what kind of people are at your school.

I’m thrown back in line
All this time"
