I hate my "gift" - December 25th 2009, 01:37 AM

my gift being my logical mind

I can understand the hardest math course offered at high school, I can work with computers in a way most people don't understand

and that is my barrier

I am unable to properly socialize I have freinds but I don't understand them I barely say anything I don't have much to say. I don't want to be alone but I can't seem to make myself interesting enough to really have any close freinds

I am nothing but a math textbook with emotional problems

wanna talk?

Hi-

I'm sorry you're feeling so frustrated right now. I don't have much advice, other than to try to find people who have similar intrests as you in school clubs or something, and that talking to a school counselor or therapist might be able to help you see why its so hard for you to emotionally connect, and how to improve your relationships.

you're not alone.

It can be tough feeling like the smart wall-flower but you can use your gift to help those around you, yeah you may not be the life of the party but when one of your friends needs "logical help" or their computer is bugging out or whatever you can be the guy to call on. Sometimes its better to be Mr. Reliable than Mr. Popular.

*ahem*... Theres a reason there's a religion forums. I think it's best to keep religious things, back over in the religion forums. =]

As for the problem here at hand... I'm sure there are lots of people like you, somewhere. I know a kid or two like this at my school who are really good with computers and better than me at math and science and such. So I know that you're not alone! Maybe you can try to find other people with similar interests? Like. a club or something. I don't know XP

The point is, you're not alone. And by all means, do not try to be someone you're not trying to make friends. Then the friendship will just be a pointless lie...
As for the friends you have that you feel you can't connect to... I don't know, sometimes with stuff like that you just have to go for it. There's no real special way to do it or a way to explain, other than... just be yourself around them. If you're normally quiet, then that's who you are and there's not much fighting it to be honest.

I'm sorry if this isn't much help... Feel free to PM me of course. I kind of ramble on and on and I'm not sure if it ever makes any sense. =]

Take me seriously.
I dare you.
