hi,
i've been suffering from depression now for a good few weeks. i have also not been eating a lot either. no-one else knows about this and I find it really hard to talk to adults and other people my age just dont understand or think its just 'attention seeking'. I really need some help at sorting things out because i've started to think about hurting myself. Im so scared to talk to my mum, i think she will go mad as she has done before i really dont know what to do and i was wondering if anyone else could give me some advice? xx

Hello there,
Obviously you need to talk to a professional like your family physician that will recognize the legitimacy of your condition, and then your parents should show respect for it as well rather than punishing you for feeling the way you do. Then you would be given the proper care that you need. Try to be strong and persistent, it will all be a lot better soon enough.
