I fight clinical depression, and I feel as if I'll never act normal - July 19th 2010, 08:23 PM

I'm really losing it.. I feel worse and worse about myself everyday, and I feel more and more like a social outcast, even though I have many caring friends. I'm thirteen, a sophomore in high school, and I honestly feel like the most awkward person in the world. Suicidal thoughts have already started, but I am taking medication and trying to fight it the best I can, right now, I'm kind of apathetic about them working. Please help. .

Hey there,
You're doing the right thing fighting your depression! That's a huge step! I know it can be hard fighting, but you're doing awesome trying to fight. Have you told your friends and family how you are feeling? Sometimes having someone to talk to about what you're going through can help take the pressure off. It's better than keeping things inside also. The most important thing, is to believe in yourself. That's the key. When I first heard that I was totally like yeah right. But it's worked. I've been slowly working my way out of my depression. I've been using volunteering as a way to make myself feel better. It makes me feel like I'm actually helping in this world and I'm worth it. Try something like that. I know it takes time, but you'll get there. I wish you all the best. Keep me updated on how you are doing. I'm always here if you'd like to talk.
Take care,
Alessa

Whatever it is, chances are I've been there.
If I can make it out, you can too.

I suffer from the same thing. And I often think that it would be easier to die than fight through it and be alive.
Be strong. Thats all I tell myself. I can't let the depression win.
Believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help create the fact.
