Unhappy Work Today - September 19th 2010, 04:45 AM

So today I was at work(I work at the local McDonalds) and I got into a conversation with a co-worker about various problems in the world. Me and this guy are both pretty cynical, and I kind of lost my groove by the time he left, because all this jaded conversation kind of brought me down, so I wasn't exactly working to my full potential.

Normally this wouldn't bother me much (I am not exactly employee of the month material) but today it made me feel really depressed because I was working with my favourite manager.

She is actually one of the coolest people I know, and she is into all the same stufff as I am, and I guess I respect and look up to her in a way. But today when I finished my shift and punched out, she just looked realy beaten down and disappointed, and I couldn't heko but feel that I ahd let her down by not giving 100%, and this made me feel really terrible.

I know this probably doesn't belong on a forum where people are on the edge, but this made me feel really sad, and this is the only place where I figured it would fit.

There's always tomorrow! Learn from your mistakes. You can recognize the problem and you're doing good. You seem like a good friend and a loyal employee, so good job! Keep up the good work.

Of course it matters, anything that's bothering you matters it doesn't have to fit into a certain category to be appreciated. I am so sorry that you're feeling this way, and that you had such a bad day at work.

I guess you can't go back and change it, so I think it'd be best to try and stop feeling bad about it. Everyone has their off days! Maybe instead you could try and talk to her next time you see her, apologize for being off and promise that you'll do better next time. And then, next time you are at work really do try hard... I'm sure you will feel so much better after!

Try to talk to her about it. I'm sure she'll understand.

Hi there ,
First of all, no-ones problems aren't worth listening to or talking to about. This problem like what Caroline said must be worth listening to because it's bothering you so therefore should be noticed.
I work at the local McDonalds too ! I agree with what everyone above me has said. Not everyone can be 100% perfect all the time even though we want to be. I'm sure your manager will understand that, that day wasn't your best day, that you were feeling a little off and that you will try your best to work hard next shift.
I hoped I helped and remember that if you need anyone to talk to I'm here to listen.
Take care.

I really appreciate all the support. For an update on the situation, I went to work the next day and gave it my all, and she said I was doing much better, and I felt better.
