When You're Going Down - June 22nd 2011, 04:37 PM

What do you do when you start to feel yourself spiraling into that darkness of doom?

It's been 2 years since I felt this way - overwhelmed, depressed, sad, anxious, unmotivated, helpless, etc.

I've tried to ignore it, I've tried to face it, and I've tried talking about it.

I'm tired of living where I do, with no friends and working 47 hours a week to come home to let ferrets out and fix dinner and see the back of my boyfriend's head (he likes his computer much too much).

Anyways, I know I'll be fine. I just wish I could feel happy before things get out of control this time.

Personally, I find things to do that I enjoy. For me, it's painting, drawing, listening to music, dancing, whatever I feel like. Maybe you should do that.

As for your boyfriend, maybe try to find ways to lure him away from the computer, eh?

I hope things get better for you sweetie<3

Feel free to PM/VM/add me if you need someone to talk to, I'm online a lot and don't mind at all!

Best wishes,

Maintain an aware, observing mind of any experiences that arise. If we have mindfulness, it will protect us from becoming too lost.

By recognizing an experience for what it is, as opposed to allowing oneself to be directed and obscured by it, its power will already be largely diminished.

When we are feeling a little more stable, perhaps we can use this opportunity to reflect on the nature of the experience. Pain and discomfort is nature's way of letting us know that something needs to be addressed and perhaps changed. Listen to the heart. We don't have to let difficult circumstances suffocate us - we have the choice of rising to meet the challenge.

"If limitations exist, it is because we have erased the possibility of potential."

Feel free to PM me if you ever need anything.

I'm sorry that things aren't going so well right now.

At least it has been two years since you've felt this way and right now you're probably just in kind of a bump.

Tell your boyfriend that you want to do something together, watch a movie, or go on some more dates. Remind him that you're here too, not just the computer (:.

I hope everything gets better.
