Need help. - August 15th 2011, 03:03 PM

So,

There are good things but bad things as well So this will be long..
Please take the time to read it all or just dont reply, I dont like it when people skim through and think they know what all is going on..

Im 19 yrs old, I currently have a 7.50 p/hour job, been here for a yr and 8 months.. I am doing P90X, its an intense workout, and I am on nutrisystem, a diet.. thats the good -

The bad :
I am in debt(kinda?) I have a loan with my bank and 1 other place, I make enough to pay them and rent/utilities and thats it. not even 1$ left over.

I want to go to college, but I dont even have my GED or diploma..
I am stupid, litterally... I cant name all 50 states, i cant name more than 5 presidents, decimals confuse me, division is impossible and multiplication is complicated, I was pulled out of school after the 5th grade, have not been in since(because of my parents) I am a fast learner though.

I want to go to college and take physical fitness and something with diets,
I want to be a coach I guess you can say, I was also thinking about taking maybe, physical fitness and physical therapy, I dont really need to be a diet expert, but physical fitness and physical therapy would be a good combination?

I was wondering If there is a way I can get "Grant" money or something to help pay off my loans, so I can go to school.. Other people try to get out of school, hell Im trying to get In It! Crying is a daily bases, i know its bad for health to be stressed, but It gets to the point I cannot help it..

this, Is a cry out for help.. I am desperate. If anyone wants to help get me out of debt or anything, I can and will pay back after I get in college, I know I can get grant money, student loans and pelgrants..

Please, what can I do?

Have you heard of the FAFSA? If you go to Fafsa.gov, you can fill out that information and send it to whatever college you want to go to-- community college, four year, etc.

Based on what you have shared about your financial information, I believe the government could really help you out. You would qualify for a certain amount of the pell grant and the school may automatically submit you to scholarships and grants.
(You can also use websites like cappex.com and collegeboard.org to help you search for scholarships and grants on your own).

Depending on the school, you may also be eligible for something called a work-study program.

And in the end, if none of these things work, the government is required to give you a loan. You may be eligible for a subsidised loan or an unsubsidised one. Your situation sounds desperate enough to merit an unsubsidised loan. This loan will cover you through the rest of your expenses that are not covered by the pell grant and other scholarships and grants, and you will have a grace period of up to six months after you finish school to begin paying it off.

I hope this helps! Best wishes and the best of luck.

Well, I'm a little curious as to why you have to pay off your loans before you cna get your GED? Do you owe money to a GED program?
