Fighting -
October 26th 2011, 07:20 PM
I really don't know how much longer I can keep this fight up. Things keep getting worse. The cutting is getting worse, my feelings are getting worse, and I just don't care anymore. I'm so worn down and I have like no energy left to keep fighting. I don't want to hear that things are going to get better; I'm sick of hearing those lies. I just don't know what to do anymore.

Hey there
![]() I'm sorry that you're struggling right now, Sometimes things can lead to us feeling worse, but things will get better. I know you don't want to hear it but that's the truth. It won't be quick or easy but they will get better. SH is always hard and it can become addicting. Have you seen the alternatives? Maybe trying some of those will help. They won't always work and it will take time to find one that does but this can help and at least you can say you're trying. Have you spoken to anyone about how you feel? I really think that this would help. If you have family and friends to support you and have professional help then things can seem a little easier and like your not so alone in all of this. I hope this helped a little and if you need anything i'm always here. Take care <3 |

Hi there :-)
I am really sorry that things are really rough for you right now but I wanted to say how well you have done to come to us here at Teenhelp and reach out for some support. That's a great step in the right direction. Feeling this way is draining. It can take a lot of energy to force yourself out o f bed every day and to get on with life and I can relate to that and partly understand that you're feeling worn down. It takes up so much energy when you feel this way and perhaps you can try doing something at the end of each day as a reward for getting you through the day to encourage you to do so? Perhaps some days it could be something relaxing to help you relax too, like taking a bath. It might really help you. I know you say you don't know how much longer you can keep on fighting, but I want you to know that there isn't a stopping point. You can't give up or give in and if you do then that's ultimately your choice and is in your control. In reality there is no giving up because this is life and I honestly don't believe you were born to end it yourself. I know it's incredibly hard and you don't want to hear it but you will get better because depression is curable or at least manageable which means you can live a normal life and be happy. It won't and doesn't have to be this way for ever. I really want to encourage you like Emma has to use the self harm alternatives. For both any suicidal thoughts you get if you do have any and for the self harm. Not every single thing in that post is going to help you but there will be certain ones which do so it is all about trial and error and not giving up when you do come across something which doesn't help you. I know that when I have struggled with urges in the past I snapped glow bands, so when they start glowing you are not allowed to hurt yourself until they have stopped by which time the urges would have hopefully passed and gone away. Perhaps you could try that one too. And remember you are NEVER alone in this. That people do care about you and want to help you and that they can help you. You just have to be open and let them in to what's going on for you right now. I know it's hard but keep fighting this and you will come through to the other side. Take good care of yourself. Jessie BELIEVE. You can and you will. I've been trying the alternatives and I have a list of things ready that I can do instead, but right now, I don't want to stop with the self-harm. And I have a therapist back home and one that I talk to at school on a weekly basis. I just don't know what it is that I'm wanting. And I'm taking medicine for the depression, as well. I just don't know what to do with my life right now. I'm so tired of being upset all the time.
