Hey there! Thanks for stopping here at TH, we love having you here and hope you find the support you're looking for.
You could very well have depression, the first step is to get in to see a doctor. You can start with your family doctor, but it tends to be better to see a psychiatrist who can help you figure out what's going on and help you get the treatment you need. Some common symptoms of depression are: difficulty concentrating, remembering details, and making decisions fatigue and decreased energy feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and/or helplessness feelings of hopelessness and/or pessimism insomnia, early-morning wakefulness, or excessive sleeping irritability, restlessness loss of interest in activities or hobbies once pleasurable, including sex overeating or appetite loss persistent aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems that do not ease even with treatment persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" feelings thoughts of suicide, suicide attempts Are there warning signs of suicide with depression? Depression carries a high risk of suicide. Anybody who expresses suicidal thoughts or intentions should be taken very, very seriously. Do not hesitate to call your local suicide hotline immediately. Call 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433) or 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255) -- or the deaf hotline at 1-800-799-4TTY (1-800-799-4889). Warning signs of suicide with depression include: a sudden switch from being very sad to being very calm or appearing to be happy always talking or thinking about death clinical depression (deep sadness, loss of interest, trouble sleeping and eating) that gets worse having a "death wish," tempting fate by taking risks that could lead to death, like driving through red lights losing interest in things one used to care about making comments about being hopeless, helpless, or worthless putting affairs in order, tying up loose ends, changing a will saying things like "It would be better if I wasn't here" or "I want out" talking about suicide (killing one's self) visiting or calling people one cares about Remember, if you or someone you know is demonstrating any of the above warning signs of suicide with depression, either call your local suicide hot line, contact a mental health professional right away, or go to the emergency room for immediate treatment. I hope this helps you out! |

Hello,
Your parents will not be bothered! They're your parents and love you more than life itself trust me! As much as you try to hide your feelings from others, they probably have noticed this change in you. The first steps to admitting something is wrong takes a lot of courage, and you don't have to go through it alone. Do you have a good friend or someone you trust? Try to confide in someone and you'll be surprised at how much it helps. I talked to a friends parent when I needed advice and she was wonderful, and respected my privacy. It really is worth it :] There are a lot of things in life that we simply can't do alone. Feeling blue once in a while is normal, but feeling the way you do is a sign of something more serious. You should see a physician and discuss how you feel. They will want to help! If you find it difficult to put you emotions into words, write some things down before you go. That way you can read your list to the doctor and it's much easier. There are also many forms you can find online that you fill out and bring to your doctor. I'll see if I can find one for you. Let me know if you end up talking to anyone. If you want to talk to me more please feel free :] I've struggled with depression for a long time and when I look at old photos it's like looking at a stranger. It really does change you. But it doesn't mean that you won't heal or you won't be that happy person again :] It's a struggle but you can do it! Taking the first steps is hard but we're all here to help :] |
