Cool Well trained cats means i need a life - February 20th 2015, 08:06 AM

I definitely need a life. The last two weeks have been devoted to teaching my two cats to sit, come, stay, follow, get down, lay down, and speak using commands in English, American Sign Language, and Spanish.Mission accomplished. I don't know whether I have smart cats or too much time. Or both. All I know is my cats are cute and amazing. I live with my gram and the cats and my gram can't get over how quickly they learned. They now sit and wait for me to pour their food, they do not jump on tables, counters, etc. and my little kitten, Truth, who is on my profile picture, grew up with our pit bull and she also will lick you and she loves belly rubs and she actually tries to growl at loud noises. But right now she is sleeping on my feet. Sweet dreams, little angel.

aww that's adorable. My cat still eats from my plate if it's something yummy like cream cheese or yogurt. But at this point I don't mind kitty germs

I think mine is seriously convinced he's a dog. He drinks out of the toilet and the bathtub drain, comes when we call him, talks to us, sits up for treats, used to play fetch with pens and then bury them under the rugs, and if you scratch him under the chin his leg will go up and down. It's the weirdest thing.

I tried to play fetch with my neighbour's cat once. I threw a little twig and the cat shot after it....didn't bring it back though

Ahhhh I love it when you can train animals ^^

My cat knows her name and will sometimes come when called (she's stubborn) and my parakeet... Well... he likes to sit and sing haha.

Major props to you for having that much patience!

Sorry I couldn't be there, I was tied to a rocking chair.

Update: leash-trained too... And she sleeps in front of our kerosene heater with her front paws stretched out like she is praying... Cutest thing on earth. She is only eight months old, if that.

My cat comes when I shake the container of cat food...if you consider that being trained x)
