why is my dog limping? - July 21st 2015, 04:38 PM

My dog has been limping for monthes now for seemingly no reason. We took him out on a walk one day and i think something bit his paw, and thats why he started limping in the first place, but its been monthes since that happened and hes still limping even after his paw has healed. We tried treating his paw, and we even changed his diet to see if it would help. Sometimes its his front legs, but most of the time hes limping on his back legs. Hes an american bulldog, and hes about four years old, and i fear that he may have hip dysplasia, but i cant be sure.(we havent been able to take him to a vet just yet). Has anybody else had this problem befor? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My only advice is take him to the vet ASAP.

Don't lose who you are, in the blur of the stars
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing,
It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard, to follow your heart
Tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising,
Just be true to who you are

If it's been months and you've not been able to take him to a vet, I would reccomend a new home, who will get him to a vet to take care of whatever is happening with him.

There could be many reasons why your dog is limping. Is he crated? Has he ever been stepped on even once in his life? Are there any old injuries? You should go to a veterinarian about this problem, and if you cannot afford it, there are charities out there that can help pay for the veterinary expenses. Just simply google special veterinary funds, and a lot of website will come up that offer help with vet costs.

I hope your dog feels better soon.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure why your dog would be limping. As Sparrow mentioned, there's so many reasons why he could be limping. I really wish I could offer more advice and help because I know how tough it can be to be worried about a pet.

Are you not able to get him to the vet for financial reasons? That's understandable, lots of people have to hold off vet visits due to financial reasons. I just hope you're able to get him to the vet as soon as you're able to. If you do take him to the vet, will you let us know how it goes? I know you must care a lot for your dog, so I'm wondering what's wrong with him and hoping that it's nothing too serious and treatable.

Hope your dog feels better, best of luck.
