how to convince mom into getting dog?

Im 15 years old and absolutely love animals. I go to the shelter atleast twice a week to play with them and take care of them. Dogs are my favorite and I've always wanted one. The problem is my mom wont let me get one. My dad loves dogs and hes fine with it while my brother also wants one. I have enough money and would pay for it and take care of it but my mom just doesn't get it. I've tried everything like asking her everyday and taking her to the shelter. Got any ideas on how I can convince her to say yes? Thanks!

To be honest, unless your mom wants a dog then you probably won't get one regardless of how much you beg her. I suggest that you sit down with her and have a chat about why she doesn't want you to have a dog. Chances are, she has some good reasoning. I really want a dog of my own (we have family dogs) but my mother doesn't want me to get one. In two years, I will be leaving for college and the dog will have to stay here. Maybe your mother has a similar reason.

If your mother won't let you get a dog, talk to her about another pet that you are interested in. Maybe she wouldn't mind you having a smaller animal.

I think a major concern parents have with children getting pets is that they don't want to be saddled with the pet's care. If you have to move away for college, the dog will be left with your parents. Lots of kids get pets, take care of them for a while, and then get bored and the parents have to start taking care of them - maybe your mother has concerns about that? Maybe focus on trying to show her that you're
responsible enough to own a dog.

When you say you have enough money, are you really sure? You are only 15, and the costs of responsibly caring for a pet can add up quicker than you think. There are more costs involved than just adopting the dog and buying it food. If it gets sick and needs extensive vet care, surgery etc, do you have thousands of dollars on hand to pay for all that? Or will your parents have to? I'd guess that's another concern of your mother's.
