ask your vet, perhaps they have some sort of yummy food you can hide it in, or some option of better tasting pills. they may also have ideas as to how to force your cat to take it. it's important that you don't give up tho, u can't let you cat live with worms.

He doesn't eat wet food because he's fussy as hell
We don't buy it either because it smells. I may ask my neighbour to try and give it to him, she has about 4 cats so she may have a good idea.

Yeah, We usually wrap the medicines we give out animals inside other food. Like, cheese or ham as someone said earlier. I'm not sure so much about fussy little cats though.
If there's a softer treat you know he loves, then wrap it in that.

my dad has this problem with our dog, he's an alsation and this works, hold them in your arms, or wrap your arms around them, put the tablet in their moyuth-tip their head back and lift their head up, then shiut their mouth and rub their throat until you think they have swallowed. hoep this helps. it woprk swith dogs at least

Hold your cat, open it's mouth, push the table to the back of it's mouth. Hold is mouth closed and stroke it's throat until you see the cat swallow repeatedly (or just for a few minutes or so). This will work and no, you won't hurt it. (RAH)˛ + (AH)ł + RO(MA + MAMA) + (GA)˛ + OOH + (LA)˛ = Bad Romance

Heh, I have a pill shooter for my cat that needs to take prozac daily.
I work as a vet tech.. I'm used to shoving things in animals mouths. Okay, squat down and sit your cat between your legs (not sitting on your cat obviously!).. she should be facing the same way as you. The main thing cats do is they back up when they want to get away.. being that she is held between your legs she cannot go anywhere. apply some pressure with your knees. Grasp your cats lower jaw with your thumb and forefinger, pull down GENTLY while also trying to aim your cats head upwards. Do not stick your fingers in the cats mouth, but push the pill in all the way to the back of her throat, then quickly close her mouth and gently grasp your hand around her muzzle so she cannot open her mouth. Blow a little air into her face to make her take a big gulp. Then rub her throat a bit to make sure it's gone down. Once you are sure it has gone down, say all the nicest things you can say to a cat.. pet her.. give her a treat. Do NOT at any point get angry with the cat. They will sense it and get ANGRIER. just keep talking in a happy tone even if the cat wants to kill you. Last step is to count to make sure you still have all your fingers, and examine yourself in a mirror to ensure the cat has not ripped any body parts off xD Dewormers do come in liquids though by the way! Depending on where you live of course. ~kathryn four million+ will be killed in shelters this year. don't shop. adopt. spay & neuter saves lives. |

My mum's friend managed to give it to him but doing it the same way you guys suggested (basically putting it in his mouth and forcing it shut) Thanks
