my very sick dog. :( -

*i am not sure if you can see that picture, but i tried posting in. So,hi...this is Tasha. The topic title says it all. Well...not quite.Let me explain. Some of you already heard about my dog,her name is like...Buggy. I talked abot her a lot. She has always been a blessing to our family, taking care of us...Making us smile, mad or sad at the same time. The last days, those emotions weren't on so much, because she is very sick. She is 11 years old but i still think its cause of her age. And shes not any kind of race, just mixed. The problem is that she doesn't eat,she barely drinks water. She just urinates every 10-30 minutes. Today she was chocking, twirling around and throwing up while i was in the yard. It looked like she was going to die. This looks like too much torture to her. One of her eyes are pretty bloody too. I am really worried and scared about this. Might it be a parasite? or just a disease? I gave out the symptoms... I mean...is she dying?? What do you think I or my family should do? Try to solve it with a vet? Take her so they put her to sleep? Or just wait for the disease (or whatever it is) to cool down? Cause I think this can't wait longer. And if we take her to a vet, I don't know how would it end out...shes pretty heavy to carry. Please help!! Any advice/thought is highly appreciated. Cause I am really shocked and don't know what to do about the problem.
Not that I'm crazy or anything, I just want some proof that death isn't the end. Not that I'm desperate, but I want to know I'll meet you someday. ![]() I need to feel free while I'm flying, safe while landing, and loved when I'm on the ground. [Don't wake me up out of this dream] |

Natasha-
Im so sorry to hear that your dog is sick. Its so upsetting when an animal who is a member of the family is clearly suffering. I would suggest bringing your dog to the vet and seeing what the vet says. Maybe its something that can be treated. But it may be something that cannot be treated. In that case you would be given the choice to bring her home until she passes away or to put her to sleep. If you think she is suffering, putting her to sleep might be the best choice even though its not an easy one to make. I had to make the choice to put my last dog down because he was my dog- he was having seizure after seizure and was old. The vet said he had brain damage because of all the seizures- you would call his name and he wouldnt come- you would look him in the eyes and he was clearly gone. It was painful to see him the way he was- he didnt sleep, eat, drink- just kept pacing and having seizures. I had to choose to put my baby to sleep because I knew he wasnt coming back and there was nothing we could do. It still makes me cry today about losing my dog. But I know it was the best thing I could do. Im not saying that for sure that your dog is dying because Im not a vet. But I would suggest going to the vet, but to be prepared in your mind that the news may not be positive. Dont go in there thinking "im putting my dog down" because that may not happen but just know it may be the choice you have to make- if that makes sense. Im so sorry again. I hope that your dog is just sick with something and that she will get better. I think the only thing you can really do is take her to the vet as soon as possible. If (and I'm not saying it's definitely the case) she needs to be put down, it will only be because she's suffering. And if she has some sort of illness, which is very likely, it would be best to get it treated quickly. Chances are it's something easily curable, but leaving it too long would be dangerous.
I'm really sorry she's sick, I know it can be extremely upsetting when a pet is ill. But try to stay positive. Even the most alarming illnesses can often be cured. Get it checked when you can and I honestly hope everything turns out well.

yes, she needs to be seen be a vet. They are the only ones who can tell you what is really wrong. As the others have said go in there and hope for the best, but be prepared because the news may not be good.
What kind of mix is she? Like what breeds? |

Aww, she's so cute.
I'm really sorry that your dog is suffering, and I have to agree with the others that the best thing you can do is take her to the vet and see what they have to say. If they can do anything to help her then they will, and if they believe she needs to be put down they will tell you this. Either way, I hope that everything turns out alright and that you and your dog feel better soon.

So you have no idea what went into the mix? Certain breeds have different medical issues and then their mixes can get those problems. This is why it may be helpful to know what she is a mix of.
When is she showing these issues just inside outside or what? |

thank you for your support. its hard to cope with. i might want to prepare first. i just feel like there is a way i can treat myself.like its only operation or putting the dog down. the symptoms show that she is strongly fighting. if it won't pass in like...couple of days,i will look for a vet. things in Serbia are very difficult.

One thing you said you were keeping tract of when she was acting that way. One piece of advice I would suggest is to bring that with you when you go to the vet. I do not know, but that may be of some help.

Hey Natasha. I hate when this happens.
Your dog needs to see a vet. They will not put your dog down without telling you. And you said yourself, this is too much. Too much for the both of you. Your dog loves you very much and if she's had a good life then she's had a good life. She wouldn't want her last memories to be of her in pain for ages. Once she's at the vet she has a chance to recover and fix herself. Whatever she's got sounds awful and painful and you want to catch it before it gets any worse. By the way. She's a beautiful beautiful dog. If the world is a cold place Make it your business to start some fires Formerly *Rainbow*Love* ![]() |

I agree with the other posters, a vet is the only person who can really help you. If the vet says something you don't agree with, you can always go to another vet to get a second opinion, and they won't do anything without telling you. It's possible that it's treatable, and the sooner you get to the vet, the better.
She is an adorable dog. |

well she was beautiful. thanks guys for the support.
![]() the picture was taken just before the day she got this sick(before the storm) which is weird. the eye that got bloody "stopped" and now she can only see on one eye. i found out that today. that fact means that this is ALL cause shes old. she stopped throwing up too. i only seen her do that once today,no more. she still won't eat though. this can be handled by a proffessional. thanks sooooo much. this advice and support really helped me.

Hey Natasha
Woah, it sounds like you've been through a lot! I'm glad to hear that some of the symptoms are starting to go away though - just keep a really close eye on her. From looking at her, she looks like some sort of Sheltie crossed Pappion - but you never know I don't know what you normally feed her, but if she's not eating her normal food, then things like pasta, rice and fish are brilliant for ill dogs!! Also, if she's not drinking (this isn't particularly good) maybe make some ice cubes (they are a little more interesting than water) or maybe if you have a pippet of some sort, squirt water into her mouth so that she has to drink. Also, if with these symptoms she's stressing out (the chasing around in circles, heavy panting, foaming of the mouth ect) then give her some rescue remedy if you can get hold of any.... just 2 drops on her tongue or on her dinner I hope this helps, hope she gets better soon ![]() Claire I'm still alive.

Natasha, first off, I'm so sorry you're going through this. I've been through a similar situation with a very loved great dane of mine. I would definitely take her to the vet ASAP and follow his/her advice, even if it's to let her go (which is really hard to do, but it's ultimately the best thing to do if the dog won't stop suffering otherwise). In the mean time, just be sure to keep her comfortable.

![]() Massive massive hug and support. If you want you can try and sort her wounds yourself. Some simple disinfectant and stuff, just to stop the flies. When my dog stopped eating I got a syringe (obviously without the needle) and blended up chicken and milk, put the syringe into the side of my dogs mouth and force fed him. He didn't like it but he was too weak to fight really. It brought him back. If he has already gone, well, we're all here. ![]() You're going to be okay. we tried giving in everything. she wouldnt open her mouth at all. thinking logic,i guess it was her time to go.
thats what they said. like in human age,she was 80.yeah,shes gone. i hope shes in a safe place. RIP buggy. ![]() yesterday i was really disturbed though,i kept imagining her everywhere in the backyard. i felt like she was there, looking all around even though i knew she isnt here with me anymore. sounds like a horror drama movie but i really "saw" her. now i am left with my 2 cats,4 kittens. things go on, i gotta start thinking about them. but if i dont need a dog right now, i wont adopt it yet. cause i need time to forget a bit about this. i dont want to hate in the next one. maybe in late august or even maybe next year... thanks for the support guys. thanks hannah.

Aww honey I'm sorry she passed away, i dont know if you are religous but i hope this doesnt make you uncomfortable but i wanted to let you know that Buggy was not in any pain, God (or whoever you believe in) would never let any creature die in pain,
Buggy passed away without any suffering or pain. I know what its like to lose a pet, I had to put my hamster down four years ago because he had some cancerous tumor that was blocking his intestins and he basically was starving to death, the vet said coconut(my hamsters name) lived a lot longer them most hamsters, coconut was with me for 3 years. I miss him but i know he's running on the big hamster wheel in the sky. Buggy went to the big playground for dogs in the sky |

RIP Buggy.
It was her time to go sweetheart. I expect she's proud to have spent her life with you, and other dogs will feel the same pride. She'll always have a place in your heart, and you'll always have been her owner. She obviously loved you and let go peacefully, knowing you where around to keep her safe as she went. You're taking this so well. She knew that you loved her. That's all a dog can ask for.
