New Puppy? What Breed? -

SLIGHTLY TRIGGERING Um well I'll make this part short as possible so i don't bother anyone, we had a dog for 13 years and a few weeks ago she um...passed on. Since my mom took care of her most of the time (and by most I mean like 99.999999% of the time) shes....really upset, so the other night we were talking and we decided it would be a great idea to get her another puppy to help her cope. So she's decided she wants a small lap dog that if possible has curly hair (loose curls, not tight curls so something like a king Charles rather then a poodle) would be more of a cuddle buddy rather then a play buddy and we are hoping not too expensive so I was wondering if any of you knew of any types of breeds we should be on the look out for that fit that description. Also if you can, can you state some of the medical issues that that breed is known for, like collies are known for having bad hips, if you don't know any then it's alright. Thank you in advance. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are the only dogs that I have any experience with, and I have to say, they are so gentle and lovely and cute! They're the cutest things ever, and lap-dog sized, and have sliiiightly curly hair.
Health issues though, yep. Some of them have heart problems, and some have a problem with their brain where it gets too big for their skull  But luckily my Charlie is healthy  They're not too expensive, but not exactly cheap. But they're so worth it!  <3

We ended up getting a black poodle mix, (5 and a half months <3) I will post pictures soon. Thank you for all your help.

Awww thank you anyways! I'm sure the list was awesome! Also I stand corrected, as it turns out he is a shih-poo (shih tzu poodle)
