My dog is trying to have sex with my other dog :|

My male dog is trying to have sex with my female dog. They've both been spayed/neutered so I don't know why he's trying to have sex with her all of a sudden :| He never has before

My boyfriend's dog does the same thing. We just let them hump and laugh. If they both are fixed, I don't see the harm in it, besides doggy AIDS.

Oh goddddd, this happens all the time when I'm at my boyfriend's house, one second the dogs will be acting like loving brother and sister (although technically not biologically) and then you look round and the male one is going at it. Extra awkward when you accidentally make eye contact with them. He just tells them to stop, I don't think there's really anything too wrong with it!!

haha, My dog used to have that problem with pillows Its normal for puppies/young adult dogs. Most dogs stop after being neutered but some don't. There's really nothing wrong with it.

As I understand it, that sort of behaviour can be a show of dominance as well, so it could possibly be that instead?

My dog Bailey did the exact same thing when my other dog Misty was still alive, Misty DID NOT LIKE IT!!!!!

I have six dogs, five of which also like to part take in well, you can imagine and since they've all been fixed we don't see the problem with it. It's just a normal dog thing to do I guess whether they've done it before or not. I wouldn't worry about it though and if you rather that they didn't, you could just stop him when he tries and hopefully he'll learn not to.

Rofl. My dog (female) and I went home to visit family for Christmas for a couple of weeks, where Gidget met my other three dogs, one of which is close to her age (Chloe, obviously female). They had been playing ALL week (typical puppy wrestling, stealing each others' toys, etc.), and one night while my fiance and I were making cookies, we caught Chloe (who isn't fixed) humping Gidget (who is fixed).
It was quite fun watching my apparently homosexual puppies going at it. xD

It's natural, if you don't like it then just give a firm NO and it should stop soon enough.

We just laugh and tell her she's doing it wrong.

My dog used to do this, but not anymore. He's gotten older so I guess his sex drive is down.

Also, I have a close friend with a boy dog that only humps other boy dogs. He also only plays with boy dogs, won't go near the girls. My friend says "Oh my god, I actually have a gay dog."

I can honestly say that I've never seen my female dog do that. But she is three, so maybe it's mostly a younger doggy thing? She is spayed, and we don't often have her around males just because we don't have many friends with male dogs, but she plays great with her female dog friends! They give each other "kisses" but as far as I know, no humping.

I think it's more of a dominance issue than a sex drive issue. It's just one way dogs show that they're more dominant than other dogs. There's no harm in it.
