Unhappy set back times two (contains curses also) - September 5th 2012, 09:59 PM

suprise bus evacuation drill to day, an i was last to get off. i m not gracefull at all so if i hopped of i would likely fall on my face, so i was going to slide off an i sat too soon and got stuck in the hallway or what ever its called. but thankfully i got unstuck before any one saw me. i went on to alto-pilot i kept from crying but all i could this is"stupid ass,so fat, cut its ok to, only a little" i didnt cuz i dont bring anything like that to school but even now i want to. i guess i just need some confort...shit idk

Hey there,

It is okay to have incidents like this happen; everybody has times where something happens and they feel like they made a 'fool' of themselves but in all honesty I doubt anyone noticed and if they did they probably didn't think anything of it. Have you ever heard the term 'we are our own worst critic?' Well, I think this is true. Whenever ever we do something 'wrong' we are going to criticize ourselves to the fullest extent but most other people are not going to be as critical. When you have incidents like this occur try telling yourself something positive instead of beating yourself up; the more positive you are the easier it will be to deal with the situation.

As for the self harm, when a person struggles with SH it is a comfort but in the long run it isn't going to make you feel better because the guilt will kick in. After you cut you will start to think about all the things you should have done instead etc and then negative thoughts about yourself will repeat and the thoughts of wanting to self harm will come again. Self harm is a vicious cycle and the reason for this is because it does not solve anything.

Have you been able to find positive coping skills that help you deal with the negative feelings? If so turn to those and if not I think you should start working on doing that. Would you ever consider talking to a counselor, a teacher, a parent or another adult about the things you are struggling with? I know that might be a scary thing to think about but you should not have to deal with this all alone and those people could help give you a positive support network.

yes i have/am talking to a counsler,in fact i see her today,im working on the self-talk and stuff i dont think its working, iv been trying the Butterfly project idk if its really working but i didnt cut so far...
