Scars are fading - September 14th 2012, 02:15 AM

So, I've only had one slip up in about 2 months, and although I never cut very deep, most of the scars I have are beginning to fade faster than before. I know this is a good thing, and I'm glad about it, but it's also hard to see them going away. I know they don't define me, but they seem like they're a part of me now, you know? Like part of me wants them to stay there even though it would be so much easier if they were gone. They remind me that I was strong, of what I'm overcoming. I don't really know what I'm asking, but it's a bit difficult to deal with, since I have mixed feelings about them. Hopefully this makes sense.

I have had one slip up in the past six months. And it was last week. But you are very strong for one giving in. And I understand. I hate seeing my scars fade. It feels like I'm losing a part of myself. But then I remember that it's part of the past. And the past is meant to fade over time. They don't define you. You're right about that. Just remember them. They show a good lesson. You're getting stronger. That is what they show.

I never thought about it that way; thank you. It's just so hard to see them fade, even if it is a part of the past.
