whats the point anymore? - September 22nd 2013, 12:54 AM

Ok, so I'm about 32 days clean, and I'm fed up. I'm still depressed and wanting to cut, I'm not better off than when I was cutting. Atleast when I was I was happy and found joy and purpose in doing so, but now I have all these triggers and feelings...I need to cut. So tonight I will, just thought id get that out there. :/

Being 32 days clean is amazing, you should be really proud of yourself. You could have a look at the list of alternatives which can be found here. I'm always here if you want to talk.

I'm here if anyone wants to talk, I'm always here. Feel free to VM or PM me

Congrats on being 32 days clean! That's awesome

I can understand how you're feeling; I can promise you, though, that when you get further away from cutting so do the urges. When I was at around eight weeks free a few years ago, the urges slowly went away with each week I went without cutting. You're saying you have all of these extra feelings. I think you need to do something with those, you know? Vent to us, go for a run, that kind of thing. Maybe even work towards another tattoo

Hiya, Jacob!

Firstly, congrats for being self-harm free for so long! 32 days is fantastic.

I think you should try looking at an alternative for dealing with the feelings and triggers you get that make you feel like cutting. Could you do something you enjoy doing? Talk to a friend, listen to music, whatever you like doing yourself. Or you could set a goal, and reward yourself when you reach that goal.

Any time you need someone to talk to, feel free to PM/VM me! Stay strong.

A run would be nice, but its fall and getting colder out. As for a new tattoo, yeah i might...as soon as i payoff my other ones haha...
As for venting, yeah, im not sure that would do me any good...might just get me in an angry mood

Ooh, we can totally help you choose your new tattoo ::

Anyway, I think what'll help you is finding out what kind of distraction you need, whether it be physical or visual. Maybe you can stop and write down what's triggering you when you're triggered, too.

When i stopped cutting for the first time, it was horrible for me as well. i knew that i'd come back to it and i did, after 2 months of being clean. then i started my recovery once again, and this time i was clean for about 124 days and i did it. but now i'm over 200 days and i don't have strong urges , they are, that's right, but i feel that they're less powerful and i can control it. i cant say i will never do it again, but believe me, when you fight, it gets better and better stay strong
