I got past one day wothout doing it, k felt like doing it, and I was going to get on here and talk to people but it was down, and tht put me in a really bad mood, but I had just got home from the gym and I hhada huge awesome work out so I was able to just pass out inside of cuttingmyself

That's really great to hear. I hope you continue self-harm free. Either way, even one day resisting urges was a good accomplishment.

Hey there,

That is really great that you were able to resist the urge, even though it got difficult! It seems like you are starting to find some good alternatives that you can use, such as going and doing a workout (exercise is also really good for keeping healthy, of course!) rather than self harming. It also allows you to feel the pain since exercise can make a person sore or "feel the burn", but in a GOOD way, rather than a negative one.

I think that maybe one thing you should do is to continue to experiment with some alternatives. That way, you will have plenty of things you can do when you wish to self harm at your fingertips, just in case you are unable to do one at the time, or you think you should try another. We have an alternatives to self harm thread that gives some alternatives you may want to try, or you may find your own.

Either way, though, you're doing really well by finding alternatives and I think that as long as you continue to do other things besides self harm, you'll be great.
