Hi all,

So I have Prom and I'm really excited, but my dress shows my scars.. Like they are older so it ain't the end of the world. But I'm insecure about them.. I don't my friend to see, I think he would ditch me or something. (He doesn't know I self harm) nor anybody at my school... So I'm little scared! I'm worried sick!! What should I do!?

Are they on your arms? Depending on where they are located, you may be able to find long gloves that cover the scars. My friend did that just because gloves look nice, but you couldn't see her arms, so maybe that'd work for you.

If they're somewhere else, do you think cover up would reduce the appearance?

Since they're on your shoulder, maybe you can wear a lightweight cardigan that matches with your dress?

As Cassiopeia said I would try a shaw or a maybe a short sleeved dress which there are really cute ones if you look around. If you want to look into makeup try a water proof kind that is thicker foundation and try putting cocoa butter on your scars everyday it has helped mine fade quite a bit. Good luck and remember to enjoy yourself and that people will probably be having fun and may not notice mostly when your going to be dressed so beautifully

Iím catching stars in the sky because I am fixing the soul within me. May it be from the heart a girl broke years ago or my soul simply repairing itself as it was shattered on my walk on this earth. May the stardust fill those cracks within my soul making me brand new, but never forgetting who I once was.

As others have said maybe wear a short sleeves cardigan. I find that bio-oil helps to reduce the scars. xx
