Thumbs down Progressing worse - May 14th 2015, 07:20 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of self harm, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

Things seem to be progressing worse. I've been wanting to move onto carving or cutting, I've managed to stay away from it somehow. With each day, I think of a new way to hurt myself without even trying. Everything I look at seems to be filed into my brain as a weapon of some sort without me even trying. I've started having dreams about self-harm and people finding out and yelling and screaming at me for it. It only makes me want to tear and rip my skin apart more. Someone please bash my skull in with stones, I can't take this anymore.

I don't know what to tell you. You have helped so many of us and I feel bad that I can't help you in return. When you feel like ripping your skin apart you can always talk to someone to make you focus on something else. That would probably help keep you distracted. Maybe telling someone about your dreams or if you don't feel comfortable with that you can always concentrate on something really hard like kittens or something sweet like that and I have heard that that will help you dream about what you think about. I hope that works. I'm sorry I cant give any real advice or help or something. I hope you stay strong

I sometimes talk to my friends about the dreams and such, though most of the time they don't understand and I feel bad for wasting their time. I sometimes talkabout them to our cat as well... Then he just rolls around on the carpet aacting all cute Cx Thank you for replying

I'm sorry you are feeling this way. It's often difficult to try and discuss topics such as depression and self-harm with others, as many people do not understand them, as you said.

Do you know where these feelings are rooted from? Have you tried speaking with a counselor or therapist if you feel your friends and family are not an option? In any event, I wish you well.

I can't go to a therapist or a counselor, even if I could I don't really trust any medical professional. I'm not sure where everything rooted from either, shoot, I don't even remember when I started. My dad said I would always scratch and hit myself whenever I was angry when I was about 3. Maybe that carried over to where I am now?

It's possible, but it's difficult to speculate with you being so young then. I'm sorry you aren't able to speak to a professional, but I do understand your discomfort in doing so, as many people feel the same way.
