ah oh - January 15th 2009, 01:04 PM

i dunno if its triggering.
ive been cutting ALOT lately.
and i was already cutting lots.

but now.
i dunno.
i went furthur, deeper last night,
when i cut it was alot of blood.
not just sometimes, like a deep scratch.
but i clearly saw my skin part. and it immediately fill with blood.
and i loved it.

my appointment for psyco theaipy still hasnt come throu.
the doc said it would b 2 weeks.
its been nearly 3 months.
i dunno weather to bother chasing it up.
i dont think i want the help or could handle it.
or even stick at it.
someone else deserves it more.

x x

(sorry about the doggy typing, it took me ages right this, and ive been cutting while ive been writing, sorry)

Maybe you should phone them and ask for an emergency appointment?
It sounds like you could do with help sooner rather than later.
Have you tried alternatives, such as elastic bands or ice?Rather than self harming.
It would be great for you to try some out.
You deserve help as much as anyone else,if not more.

Keep trying,you can do this.
Distract yourself, exercise, anything that gets your mind off things.
I used to hoover for hours, because it helped keep my mind off things!
You should call for an emergency appointment,it would be really beneficial to you.

Hi Lea.

I think that you have to put yourself first in this situation. It does seem as though things are really difficult lately and trying to cope alone with things, I don't think makes things any better. You DO deserve some support with this, there are people out there that can help you and you don't have to cope with this alone - consider your options and keep them open. Things can get better, sometimes it just requires that extra help/support off someone for things to move forward for you.

Have you gone back to the doctor about the appointment? Have you not heard anything since? I think that because he said 2 weeks and it now being 3 months, you should chase up what's happening with the situation. You DO deserve this help and getting this help with things could be a turning point for you. Give it a try and then if you find it doesn't help you, go back to your doctor and consider your other options or try a different counsellor. But definitely find out what been happening with the appointment. You deserve that help and it's only right that you do get it.

The most important thing to remember is that self-harm is a coping mechanism and often a symptom of other underlying problems. So if you want to stop hurting yourself, it's crucial that you find healthier ways of coping and address any issues that are causing or contributing to the self-harm. Trying to distract yourself isn't always easy. Some alternatives don't work for some people. We do have a big sticky of alternatives at the top of this forum, and they can be really useful to use. Not all will work for you, but you might be able to find a couple that do work for you.

Stopping self injury is a really difficult task. It almost requires a lifestyle change. You have to change the way you cope with stress and with life in general. What helped me was to 1) learn a whole lot of new coping skills and 2) not beat myself up if/when I had a slip up. The road to beating self harm isn't always an easy one, but it's one that is possible.

Keep trying and stay strong. I'm here if you ever need to talk.
