My Family Is My Worst Trigger

My family is disfuctional... My older cousin treats me like I'm a slave and nothing to her. She's 17 and treats everyone younger (including her sister) that she owns them.

she is seriously the worst one. But when I tell my other adult family members, the tell me to ignore her. She even treats me like a slave infront of the adults, and they don't care.

My grandma and grandfather started my FIRST cutting trigger, so their pretty bad to. They never really accepted me, so their always insulting my style of cloths and yadda yadda.

My uncle says things like this;

Why are you depressed? You shouldn't be!
Stop being depressed! Just stop. Tell yourself your not depressed and you'll be fine.

I'm having another family function really soon. And all the family members I hate (That would be all of them) are going to be there.

How can I tell them to shut the fuck up and leave me alone... Uh, don't us those exact words.

Hey. You are not alone with the messed up family. I have one to. They can triggeer emotions and everything. Hey if you what to just vent about them or talk about anything then I would be glad to listen. Ican even relate to things that you could be going through.

I no exactly where you are coming from my grandpa was one of the main reasons I was cutting and so was my mom. And it just got really bad and I was cutting like everyday anyways I honestly would say be honest with them.

Sit down with all of them and be like you know you guys sometimes make me feel worse about myself when you talk to me and put me down on how I dress and tell me I shouldn't be depressed it only makes me worse. and see what they say.

i know what your going through my mom actually asked me to start cutting and to get out of her way.
annd its rough but you got to show them your stronger then you really think you are,
tell them that you dont like that they are doing the stuff there doing, like tell them your making me worse so please just stop and if they ask how am i, be like your treating me like shit and just if you dont feel like talking to them just give them a dirty look .and just stare or walk away. but if it comes to them sitting down talking to you tell them i cant deal with the stuff there going on about, because i deliberty had to tell my mom to stop talking to me because shed just say all the wrong things and the brokeness can be fix just hang in there.

Family can be the worst sometimes. You know what they're saying is wrong, just try to ignore them. Make fun of them in your head. I do that a lot for people that trigger me. Like when they say "I don't like the clothes you wear", look at them, and (in your head of course!) list all the things you honestly don't like about them. They just want you to react. If you're able to just sit there and take it, you beat them all.
