Sorry if this is in the wrong forum - I really didn't know where to put it!
I really am confused about this. I tend to SH mainly, but have recently had some ED 'symptoms' and I really don't know if it is still SH. Anyone have any views on this? Are they all the same thing? Or are they two separate things? So much for that idea ...

In my view, it counts as self-harm if the objective is to hurt yourself. So, if you don't eat because you want to cause damage to yourself, then it's self-harm. But if you don't eat because you want to lose weight, it's not self-harm, even if it does cause damage.
That's just my take on it though. Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us - champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be. |

I think it can be. I know that my ED was a result of trying to hurt myself and lose weight. I figured if I didn't eat or purged I would lose weight or die. So, it was a combination. In my opinion I think on some level everyone who has an ED is doing it to harm themselves though. The underlying thing might be to lose weight but in the end I think they know what they are doing and they like the way it feels and what not. I might be wrong but that is an observation I made while in ED treatment.
