I am sorry to hear that, here are a couple suggestions:
The truly only way to quit is to want to quit. A few ways are to:
-Make a list of the BAD things of SH, and every time you are about to SH take out the list and read it.
-Think about that someone will notice, and then the snowball effect from there.
-Take away all of the SH items you have used.
-Talk to someone about it

I wish you luck and you WILL get out of this, if you believe you can!

it is very possible to get addicted to harming yourself. when i went into the hospital, they had all self-harmers participate in NA (Narcotics Anonymous). maybe reading some of their materials (and replacing any drug use with self-harm) could be helpful.

i love all of the suggestions that were said above also.

Please try to stay safe! I know that you can conquer this.

Some people think it's more addicting than some drugs, and I agree. While there are so many alternatives to hurting yourself, you have to find the one that works for you. The above ones are wonderful, and then there are the most common like snapping a rubber band, drawing on yourself in red marker where you usually self-harm, etc. I also agree with the wanting to stop part.. it will be 10 x easier to stop if you really want it. And it sounds like you want to stop. My biggest advice would be to tell someone you truly trust. I know its easier said then done, especially since if it's a guidance counselor or someone like that- its the law that they have to tell your parents. But sometimes all we need is a push the get us on the right track. It's not going to be easy, but with the right help here on TH, and in counseling you'll get there. We have hope for you, don't be afraid. You can do it.

Never regret anything because at one time, it's exactly what you wanted. PM me. (:

it's not going to go away just like that. Once you start, it's almost impossible to stop. I'd talk to a councellor about it, even if it's a teacher. They can help
