I want to tell my brother... -

But I can't bring myself to do it. I'm afraid to tell him because of what he might say. I wouldn't put it past him to make fun of me for cutting. I know he can be really deep and caring sometimes... But I'm just afraid. He'll probably think I'm doing it to be "emo" or something, and when he asks me why he won't believe me. He won't believe me because our mother is a totally different person when he's not around..

If you're afraid he'll make fun of you, you shouldn't tell him. You don't need another reason to self harm. I don't know about you, but when people make fun of me, it triggers me into hurting myself more.
On the other hand, it might feel good to tell him. I know that isn't really offering another option, but what if you really sat down and talked with him about it? And, are you ready for the rest of your family to know, because if you tell him, there is a good chance that they'll find out. If you aren't sure, you should hold off for a while. Good luck Becca. |

When you do decide to tell him, don't forget that he might tell your parents to make sure you get help. So thats another thing you have to remember.
