Hey Ida,

If the wounds bleed continually you'll need medical attention. So if it's bleeding for more than ten minutes, that indicates it's dangerously deep and you need to call an ambulance. The doctors will know whether they need to sew it. It's important that you get the medical help you need, because losing too much blood can cause you to go into shock.

This might be of use to you, but remember it's not an alternative to seeing a doctor.

I hope you're OK, PM me if you need to.

Ida,

The best advice I can give you is that if you're unsure, it's better to err on the side of caution and seek medical help.

I know you didn't ask for advice, but I just want to say that it sounds like self harm is a serious problem for you, and I really recommend you talk to someone about it. It doesn't have to be us here at TeenHelp; a parent or friend or counsellor would do instead. Just, please, think about this, and try and be safe.

Good luck.
