Cut again - April 29th 2011, 09:37 AM

I cut again for the first time in four months. The cuts aren't too deep, but they're... I don't know the right word? Wide? So the wounds are pretty much open, not scabbing well. My arm aches all the way down it despite the cuts being in one place. I'm not sure what's wrong, they've only ever stung before. This is the first time I've had to properly dress the wound.

And my boyfriend, well I know he's trying to help. But he's threatening to tell my mum. He says if I do it again he'll tell. My mum's misguided in a lot of things, and I know this sounds very teenage but she doesn't understand me much. But her finding out would kill her. I don't want her to be upset.

Hey there.

I am really sorry that you've been feeling low again recently and that this had led you back to self harm. Thats a horrible place to be in and they are horrible thoughts and feelings to have to experience.

Honestly even if the cuts are not that deep I think you should go down t your doctor or hospital and get them checked it. It probably doesn't need stitches if it's not to deep, but they'll clean it properly to prevent infection and they might put some steri strips on to close the wounds which will help it heal and will help stop scares from being so bad.

I don't know whats upsetting you or causing you to feel so low or if there is anything triggering you to feel this way, but if thee is, want you to know we're here for you. That we care about you and want to be able to support you as much as we can and so it's okay for you to open up to us and let us know whats going on and how you are feeling.

You said you didn't cut in four months so I just want to remind you how amazing that is and how proud of yourself you should be. Its really inspirational and is something to be proud of yourself for. You can do it again, you ARE stronger and better than self harm.

Stay strong,

What made you to self harm the way you did?
If the cuts are itchy and hurting you need to go to your local A+E to get them checked out..

My cuts are the same way. I don't know why though coz before my cuts have all generally been the 'same' but these ones are wide :/
I think we should both go to docs/A&E to get em checked out. Hope you're okay <3
