Yet again I have given in to my Self Harm and Cut. I thought I would feel relief but I want to do it more. I want to cut more and more. I feel crazy
I hate this so much. I honestly don't even know what to say about it. I just feel like I am to much for myself to handle. <---- That sounds crazy I know... Sorry.

Re: Yet again - July 2nd 2011, 04:25 AM

It makes total sense. I'm sorry about your relapse but remember it's going to be okay.

No one is perfect, no one can magically decide to quit cold turkey, it's a struggle for everyone.

I know that it can be hard, but when you think that you'll feel better after doing it, remember that you don't need to. And remember how you feel right now, I know it sucks to relapse but you are still an amazing, strong person and you can make it through this.

Hey,
I'm sorry you felt like you needed to cut again.
You know you can talk to me if you need to buddy. <3
Try to find something to do to distract yourself if you can

And I also agree 110% with everything Maddie said.

How do you know? I feel happy one minute and I feel like I am getting better and then I flip out and do something like this.

Re: Yet again - July 2nd 2011, 04:47 AM

It happens. All part of recovery sweetie. I'm sure anyone whose quit cutting had the same problem, and anyone who is attempting to recover has.

I know I have.

I think what causes it is you're ok one minute then something upsets you. When you get upset you have that knee jerk reaction of "everything is going downhill again; I need to cope; I need to SH" and the next thing you know, you have. You don't think it through, it's on impulse.

And as Maddie said, it sucks to relapse, but you can get around it. Just focus on trying to get back on track. It's going to take time to recover, by you can.

You're a wonderful person Shana. You can do this. I know you can

I know how you feel. It's those little things that can just make you want to SH. But - as everybody else said, it takes time. That is what I'm definitely learning from everything.

PM me if you need to talk.

Whenever you think about SH yourself make sure you keep yourself away from anything you could use to hurt yourself. It definitely helped me whenever I've gotten an urge recently. Stay strong.

Re: Yet again - July 2nd 2011, 05:44 AM

Me too. :/ I used to keep something in my bag that was needed with me at all times. It's a horrible addiction that I have also.

I've learned to keep my mind off of things by listening to music. It's the only thing that can truly help me.

Re: Yet again - July 2nd 2011, 02:00 PM

That's the thing, you're assuming that something will happen at all times that will make you want to harm yourself. I know that it's super hard to let go at first, but I had to give what I used to my friend, it's at her house and I haven't seen it in over a month.

Giving that up will probably help you a lot, because then you'll figure out how to deal with things without using an object to hurt yourself.

Believe me, I know how hard it is, and how strong you are for stopping, but it is SO important that you be able to stop carrying that stuff around with you, and ultimately be able to give up self harm. If you're trying to stop and you're still carrying around sharp objects, that's like an alcoholic taking vodka with him everywhere even though he's trying to quit. It's a temptation and it's going to be easier for you to fall back into the pattern if you have the tools.

I hope that you can overcome this, I know you can (:

That is actually a very good idea... I have one very close friend that knows everything. I know she wants to help me because she is the one I always talk to and she told me. I bet I could give them to her... Thanks guys!
