Advice Needed please help -

I've been cutting with an actual razor blade for 4months not and self harming for 10 years, my friend thinks I should go into a long term facility I'm not really ready to stop, but I'm at the point where if I don't I'm gonna lose everyone I love, right now this has kept me from going through with my plan to kill myself, but I don't know what I should do..
Do you think I should go to a long term? (I've been in a short term facility twice before) |

Hey there Grae.
I'm really sorry that things are so rough for you right now. What you do is up to you at the end of the day. If you think there might even be a small chance of this helping you then I say go for it because you can't carry on self harming for ever. It's to dangerous and you're worth more than it. Maybe you could write out the pro's and con's of going and the pro's and con's of not going and see what weighs up best. I know its a hard and scary choice to make but you need to think what is best for you because you need and deserve the help to get better and to get out of your current situation. The decision as to whether or not to go to a long term facility is a tough one; it can be hard on you and everyone you know and love. I can't tell you what is right for you, but I can tell you my experience. When I was sixteen years old, after many hospitalizations, my parents finally put me in a long term therapeutic boarding school. I was there for fifteen months. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but I came out a stronger, more confident, and self harm free individual because of it. If there is any chance such a place can help you, I recommend going. The benefits are worth much more than the drawbacks.

My friend who is like my big sister has been to one twice and she is stronger, we are looking for something on the east coast of the us, and not to expensive cause my friend is also offering to pay as long as i am better
