Question self harm for small reasons - September 9th 2011, 01:10 AM

so i don't really know why but i tend to self harm over really little things that just bother me. It may not even involve me..my family may just be bickering over something i sometimes i just get so annoyed that i have an urge to cut and eventually do. I also am struggling with food issues so like i think i weigh to much i do it..is it normal to sh over little things? Maybe i am just really sensitive? or do you think it is more of a habit because i used to do it when i was depressed..but i think i got over that stage...but like i easily am bothered and when i am i tend to learn towards doing this. I don't have scars or anything which is why i also find it not as bad but like at the same time i regret after because i do it for such stupid reasons..? advice? thoughts?

This is completely normal. Once you get into the habit of self-harming you can get the urges even when something little happens. I get urges when other people fight, or things that don't involve me but do effect me. I get the urge with any negative emotion.

It doesn't matter whether you have scars or not, self-harm is not healthy, I can vouch for this because I deal with self-harm every day.

Yeah, that's normal... I SH over stupid things also... But the problem with this is that when a really big thing happens what will you do?

People say I'm happy, and I'm good at what I do, but what people never realize is that I'm a damn good actress too...

I cut for small reasons. Sometimes there is no reason - I just want to do it.
