Re: how to control anger -

Hi,
Welcome to TeenHelp. ![]() First off, I'm really glad you notice that cutting isn't a good way to deal with anger or frustration and that you have stopped yourself from doing it again, at least, that's what I'm assuming from this post. You are looking for alternatives to cutting and there is a rather great and very useful list here. www.teenhelp.org/alternatives You could try many different things like squeezing or punching a pillow, writing in a journal, listening to music, going on a walk, tearing paper, playing games on the computer or some other gaming device, drawing, painting, sports, going places with friends, talking to a family member/friend/counselor, making a list of things that make you happy (then look at it when you are feeling angry), write down the reasons why cutting isn't a good way to deal with anger and there are so many other things you can do. You aren't alone in this and all of TH is here to support you, so if you ever need any help just post again and we'll be glad to help. I hope I've helped and you can PM me if you ever need anything. Well hello there! Welcome to Teen Help. The one place where you can come and express your true feelings, your deepest, darkest secrets and no one will judge you! It seems like you want to either stop self harming, or just do it so that you do not "over harm" yourself. that is great! Stopping sh is really hard but if you have people around you that love and support you, then you can do it. There are sooo many things that you could do to distract yourself and lessen the anger. Any type of art whether its music, acting or painting is always very relaxing (if you like it) playing sports also induces the endorphin seratonin in your brain which is basically the happy thing in your brain so exercise is great! Reading, or writing are always good. Reading mostly because you can read books that either are inspiring or make you feel like you aren't alone. You can write poems or stories, or articles about how you are feeling. Writing is a great pain reliever. Really, anything that you like doing will be helpful to calm your anger.
Anyway, message me if you ever want to talk. Im a great listener and i usually give good advice. Stay strong beautiful!
Everybody dies, but not everybody lives <3
