Deeper Cut - October 10th 2011, 07:02 AM

I think i may have cut too deep, deeper than I ever have before that is for sure. So I'm not sure if it's too deep, or just shocking for me. I mean I feel fine? If I cut too deep I'd feel lightheaded or something right? It just looks very open... not like my usual cuts.

You need to put pressure on it go get it to stop bleeding. depending on where it is, if you can raise it above the level of your heart it will help reduce the blood flow. Lay bandages or paper towels or something on top of it. if it soaks through, put down another one, don't take off the bottom one, just add more, keep the pressure on. If it doesn't stop bleeding or slow down a whole lot after 30 mins you need to go to the hospital. if after its done bleeding, it's wide open without you touching it, you MIGHT need stitches. Please take care of yourself.

It's still open, but I can squeeze it together. I looked it up on google and it said if you can do that you don't need stitches. So should it be ok?

It's hard to tell over the internet, really. But after this amount of time, stitches probably won't help much anyway. If you can get to a drug store of some type, buy butterfly stitches. Theyre small strips of adhesive that will keep the edges together and help it heal. If it's in an area where it might be exposed to dirt or debris, cover it well. Infection is your enemy at this point.
