Scarrs :/ -
December 23rd 2011, 10:40 PM
I haven't been cutting too bad lately but my upper left arm is really bad but I can usually cover it up with sweaters or big tee shirts. The thing is my mom got me a lot of clothes for Christmas a lot of which are tank tops or v necks or shirts with little to no sleeves for summer and she always makes me try stuff on and show her. I've already tried makeup and I'm terrified she will find out
. Any solutions?

Get some fashionable long gloves to wear, wear a thin long sleeve shirt underneath the tanks, wear a jack over the tanks to "accent" them, wear bracelets.
There's not much else I can think of to help. I would think wearing a light long sleeve shirt would help, or the gloves. Or any of those. At least one should work and not look weird :P Just make sure it's for "fashion" or she might get suspicious. I also suggest talking to someone about why you cut, though I'm certain you've heard this a lot. Feel free to PM me to talk. So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

As has been said previously, long sleeve tops underneath would be a good plan, and they actually look pretty ace too. Make up can also help, but you have to be careful you aren't highlighting the scars. You should also look at long term solutions, such as bio oil to get rid of the scarring/ reduce it, they will also naturally fade with time.. and stopping cutting. This is the hardest solution, I know, but will be the best one.
You probably need to talk to someone about your reasons etc, maybe a professional, or family, friends, teachers, or stranger. I'm sure there are plenty people on this forum willing to talk to you about it, and I am certainly one of them. Please, take care x |

Hey there,
It sounds like you're in a tricky situation at the moment. You've said you've already tried makeup, which i found quite useful. But as said above, light long t shirts or bracelets. Also I would suggest looking at things such a bio oil, which like help the scars to fade a bit faster. Over time they will fade and it will be easier. If you ever want/ need to talk, feel free to PM me, Take care, Charli

Oh yes. Another thing to use while using BioOil or Cocoa Butter is some bronzing lotion. After a few months with the color closest to your skin color (just a bit darker), you switch to a darker one. It slowly "tans" you without the harmful sun rays or tanning beds. Of course, this is if you don't mind getting a 'tan'.
So you have gray hair and you're only 26

What I find helpful is this stuff called medirma that's supposed to get rid of scars faster. Also lotions for stretch marks and stuff like that. At least try to put any type of lotion on it regularly to keep it from drying out and making scars worse (my fav kind is Jergens shea butter)
I hope you feel better. I was so scared of telling mother about my cutting problem but now that I have she is able to help me come up with good ways to hide my scars. She also can get long sleeve clothes and lotion for me and won't question y I always wear long sleeves. I'll be praying for you.~SM~ |

you need to tell her the truth...it'll be better for her to know instead of her not to know...you'll feel 2000x's better if you tell her...she may not like it at first but over time she'll understand and open her arms to hold you. She loves you and she'll be there for you
