I need to help my friend - January 7th 2012, 09:50 PM

I don't know what to do. She's 16 and hasn't been to high school. I can't physically see her, so we only text. She cuts and not her family, her mentally abusive boyfriend, or even her cares. I don't know what to do. She keeps saying I don't get it, but I've been through everything she has. Any advice?

Continue talking to her and being her friend. Suggest some alternatives to self harming. Try convincing her to confide with some1 that is physically there about what's going on.

Speaking of Alternatives, that link goes to an entire list. She may not think that she needs help right now, I know that I didn't until it got to a point where it started getting out of control for me, and everybody reaches that point at different stages. Amber's right that it is a good idea to keep being her friend and be there for her as much as possible, she really needs someone like you in her life, whether she realizes it YET or not.
