You all are the same - February 5th 2012, 07:52 PM

Beating myself? Who cares?!
Overdosing? Who cares?!
screaming I want to die? Haha who even hears me

I could post a million threads and no one would even notice. Thanks for all the support, all 18 views and not one could give me advice on how to cope or even a little "keep our head up"

That's cool, hope I end up dead and then everyone will be happier, my dad might even finally be proud

Hey lovely, I'm sorry you're going through a rough time at the moment. You mustn't think that just because people don't reply to your thread it means they don't care. A lot of us care about you, but it may be that we don't have time to reply, or that we can't think of what to say. I'm guilty of frequently looking at a thread and being unable to help, so I don't say anything. I once posted a thread here which got 21 views and no response, so don't worry too much.

We do care that you are struggling. I definitely care.

I read your other thread - you said that you realised starving yourself was dangerous so you began self-harming? I'm sure you realise that SH is dangerous too. You may have no intention to kill yourself, but accidents happen. The reason you feel happy when you feel pain is that causing pain releases endorphins, which are basically hormones which make you happy. There are other, less harmful ways of getting this endorphin rush without hurting yourself, alongside a load of other alternatives to self harm, which you can read about here.

It's good that you want to change, and you may wish to consider talking to a trusted adult about your feelings and habits before they develop into something you find it even harder to control.

I hope things work out,
-Kate

I'm really sorry this happened.
I didn't see your last thread but I would like to make a point, not all of the people that view threads are members so not everyone is capable of replying.
Don't worry about the amount of views a post gets, it's usually mostly guests in the count anyways I think.

I understand how hard it can be to struggle with self harm.
The urges, the not thinking anything else will work, everything, it is hard but it is possible to get past.
I find it extremely helpful to have a person to talk to. I talk to a therapist and having her support and knowing that what I say stays between the two of us is very comforting and makes talking to her easier.
Also therapists/counselors can give some great advice and tips on how to deal with things that we might not think of.
The link that Kate gave you above to the alternatives is very useful and I encourage you to look at it and try some of them out.
Not all of them will work for everyone but something in the list should help.
I hope I've helped.
I know you can do this!
Stay strong and take care of yourself.
You can message me if you ever need someone to talk to.

I'm so sorry you're feeling this bad. Sorry nobody replied to your post, it's ok, we all get that sometimes. It does suck though. But it doesn't mean nobody cares. I know what you feel like, I'm a depressed cutter with nobody in my life who understands me. We are all stuck in the same boat here. I really hope you feel better. PM me if you ever need to talk.

Hey there. I'm really sorry that you posted a thread and got no replies. I can understand that this didn't make you feel very home. Like already said, sometimes people don't have the time, don't have the words and some of the people who viewed your thread probaly were not users and therefore were unable to reply. I want you to know that we are here for you and that we do care. If you need to talk to someone straight away, then you can pop into chat and ask if any body has some time to talk to you. You could also go on livehelp if it's online. You can also write in a request to helplink which you will get a reply to pretty soon. The staff on here are here to help you. I don't really know what's going on for you right now but i'm here for you if you want to talk. I'll try my best to help you, give you any advice or just if you want to rant to me, that's fine. You're not on your own and you can beat this and get through to the other side. Hang in there. We're here for you. Jessie.

Hey,

I'm sorry you didn't get the responses you were looking for on your thread. I've had that happen to me before, and it can be rather discouraging. Sometimes I'm one of the people who reads threads and does not respond to them, simply because I'm not entirely sure what to say, or because I don't think that my advice will matter at all.

But consider this; by reading, that is proof that someone cares. They may not have been sure to what to say and didn't respond, but they read what you had to say. Maybe they're struggling with something similar and are not sure they can give advice. But they care enough to read through what you are saying. They care enough to pay attention to you, even if it's not the way you want them to.

Remember that the forums are not the only way to get support around here, and sometimes not the best way depending on your issue. You might benefit from using HelpLINK, or LiveHelp if you need urgent advice. TH itself is proof that people care. If they didn't, it wouldn't be here in the first place.

I guarantee you that people in your life care about you. I've felt as if I don't really matter to anyone before, but now that I'm feeling better about myself and I'm happier with life, I realize I couldn't be more wrong. I am cared about, and I think it's important that you stick around long enough to realize that you are too, even if it might not always seem like it.

I'm here if you ever need to talk, just send me a PM anytime. Hang in there.

I'm so sorry that you didn't get the responses you were hoping for on your last thread. I didn't see it, but I do know that I've been guilty of looking at threads without replying. There are times that we might look at a thread and not know what to say. Because of that, we don't always reply.

Keep in mind that the forums are not the only places to get help. You can also use Live Help, HelpLINK, or the Support & Advice lobbies in the chat rooms. You can also PM users on here if you desperately need someone to talk to. I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that we would be happy to read your message and help in any way we can.

Remember, people do care about you. It may not always seem that way and I know that can be hard, but we do care. As MadPoet said, this website is proof that people care about each other. So, please forgive us for not giving you the help that you needed.

Take care and message me if you need anything.
