Lightbulb A few words of Inspiration - January 23rd 2014, 10:25 PM

Hey Everyone!

MY ADHD MAY AFFECT MY LEARNING, BUT I REFUSE TO LET IT BE A LEARNING DISABILITY!!!

I'm Ben! I have ADHD! I'm from New York, but I've been living in Israel for the year on a gap year program. (A year between high school and college)

My ADHD has always affected my learning. It's more than sometimes a struggle to keep up with the class and it affects my processing and it affects my concentration. It's annoying because I have to work twice as hard, but I survive. Not only thanks to the ADHD medication, but because of my optimistic and all-together positive attitude.

I believe that any "disability" -- be it learning, mental, or physical-- is only a disability if YOU LET IT be one!

It's tough. It's rough. You've had enough. But keep your cool 'cause you've got the stuff. You'll make it through because you're you.

I'm extremely proud of myself because I am learning hebrew, and I got an A in the class.

Whatever your "disability" is, remember that you are NOT stupid! This is regardless of whether or not you can do something, or how long it takes you to do it. Believe in yourself and you are sure to reach high places.

Make yourself proud and embrace everything about you!

I also write poetry! I have a youtube channel called BENeficialPoetry with inspirational poetry! I'll admit I haven't put a poem up in a while, but I promise to get back into it!

KEEP BEING YOU!!

Reply or PM me about anything!

sincerely,
BEN

Congrats about your A in the class! I'm sure you worked hard and you deserve it! You should consider posting your poetry in the Self Expression forum sometime, I'd love to read it! It seems like you have a great attitude and that is wonderful.
