Could I be bipolar? - February 14th 2012, 09:10 PM

This is how I can describe a week...
Monday I get up and I feel just fine
Tuesday I feel like I'm on top of the world
Wednesday I'm all depressed n shit ready to cut
Thursday I just wanna die
Friday I say I'm fine even though I'm not
Saturday I'm happy again
Sunday its time for these emotions to happen all over again

I experience really high highs n really low lows
Could I be bipolar?

From what I understand about bi-polar, mood swings like that would have to happen throughout the day..not from a day to day basis. If you're really that curious I would consult your doctor about it.

If you're concerned about your mood swings I would suggest you consult your doctor. After all, the only way you could be given a full/proper diagnosis, if you are bipolar, would be from a professional. Take care!

Sounds like normal moods. We all feel fine sometimes and other time s we feel sad and other times we want to cut and other times we dont want to cut. Some people get really silly too normal mood. Theres diffrent types of bipolor. Some cycle hour by hour. Others have weeks of depresison then next week manic. Sounds like you want to be bipolor. Talk to a therapist if you really want to know what diagnosis you have. Do not self diagnose.

Both Amber and Erin are wrong, mood swings assosiated with bipolar disorder usually last months or weeks instead of hourly or daily.
However it sounds like normal teenage girl moods to me, talk to a doctor if you don't think so.

It sure as heck probably ain't bipolar though.

Hourly mood swings with bipolar is extremly rare unless you're a child.

Well lots of things could be causing mood swings. It could just be stress, hormonal changes in the body, etc. In any case, you should consider trying to de-stress and work on taking care of yourself. Bipolar medications are horrible, and so is the label.

PM me if you want to talk.

Therapists aren't actually qualified to make any sort of diagnosis, only psychiatrists are qualified to make a mental health diagnosis.

Re: Could I be bipolar? - February 17th 2012, 11:05 PM

I wouldnt consider it bipolar because it's just depending on the day. Bipolar is when you randomly switch from being really happy and feel great to suddenly snapping the next minute to depressed and/or angry on a regular daily baises.

Just a girl with an angel above, just a girl with an angel to love. My angel grew wings and she did dare to fly. But I promise my angel, it's only good night but never good-bye. My angel, my angel in heaven above. My angel, my darling, you'll always have my love. Rest in peace, my sweet darling, it's only temporary that we part. My angel, my angel, how you still do steal my heart </3

Wrong again, Bipolar episodes usually last weeks or months not usually changing on a daily basis.

Re: Could I be bipolar? - February 19th 2012, 12:28 AM

Depends on the type of bipolar actually.
You should look up the different bipolar spectrum's and their symptoms... all of them have different cycle periods for a diagnosis.

If you feel like you match that criteria well then you should consult a doctor. It is also possible that your mood swings are part of an underlying health problem such as unbalanced hormones levels.
