I've never really heard of anyone who's addicted to gum. Maybe you can try flavored water?

It's not sick. Don't panic.

You need something else to chew on by the sounds of it. I know its not great but its a cheaper alternative to bite your nails or something?

I think the best thing you can do is to talk with your family about it. Tell your parents to stop giving you money to buy gum and have your siblings hide there's. Keeping yourself from buying it may be the hard part, though. Maybe you could try just limiting the amount of gum you chew? Tell yourself your only going to take one piece at a time and no more than a pack a day and then keep lowering it. It may help to put someone else in charge of your money for awhile. Have them keep it from you so you can't go out and buy tons of gum.

Also, try and keep yourself busy and your mind off of it. I know that's easier said than done, but addictions and habits are much harder to break if you're sitting around bored thinking about it.

Good luck!
